Are the modem/serial card true plug-n-play? Are they brand name? If you
got a knock-off no-manufacturer one, I doubt Win95 will ever like it. The
word I hear is that some cards are not useable under Win95, it is much
more finiky than 3.11. The next question is whether you can live without
the FIFO buffer. What connect speeds/download times are you getting thru
your ISP?
BTW, if this is an external modem, I hope you have a hardware handshaking
cable. You might also want to check the serial card because there is a
chance it is bad or not working properly.

I doubt this is the problem, but it's worth seeing if your Win95
installation is good.
When you run the diagnostics on your modem, does it see com2, irq 3, 02F8
(I think this is right)? Can you type AT commands to the modem when USE
FIFO is checked? If not, I would suspect the serial card.
